With the internet in a hubbub over supposed EXO fans (or anti-fans) creating a petition to keep the members out of mandatory military service, one of the SM Entertainment group's largest fan cafes has stepped up to clear EXO's name.
Since news of the army exemption petition became a hot topic online, many netizens have been outraged over its existence, while others questioned whether it was really created by true fans. A large number of EXO fans have stated that the controversy was created to cast a negative light on EXO and their fan base in the midst of netizen scorn over obsessively devoted EXOtics.

One of EXO's largest daum fan cafes, EXO Planet, which has over 100,000 members, has now released an official statement on the controversy.

EXO Planet announced:

"Hello. This is Daum's EXO Planet. Whether it's because of an anti-fan or a fan, because of that one person, EXO is being cast in a bad light on multiple portal sites, so we're writing this statement. We have absolutely no plans to sign a petition for the EXO members to get exempted from military service. We will not hold back our support or words of encouragement for EXO if they make the right choices. If they ever go in the wrong direction, we'll be hurt, but we'll discipline them out of love in order for them to become more mature... We would like everyone to know that we have no involvement in this matter."

The fan club also stated, "If someone is spreading false information with no evidence and ends up hurting or making things difficult for the members, we want to tell the people who are recklessly attacking EXO that our side will take legal action."

What's your take on the issue?
